A pioneering UK-developed technology delivering ultra-reliable, infrastructure-independent 5G connectivity to the world’s hardest-to-reach locations has secured a £1.2million investment to accelerate its growth.
The funding comes at a time of increasing global focus on national resilience, secure communications infrastructure, and sovereign capability across critical sectors.
JET Connectivity has developed land and sea-based alternatives to satellite networks such as Starlink and brings secure, high-bandwidth communications to offshore, coastal and ultra-remote sites anywhere on the planet.
The £1.2m Pre-Series A funding round was led by TRICAPITAL Angels, with participation from private investors and The FSE Group. The investment will enable JET Connectivity to rapidly scale its operations throughout 2026 and meet accelerating demand for its secure sovereign 5G network systems, particularly across national security and resilience applications.
Founded by a team of engineers who have built their own hardware and software stack, JET Connectivity has grown rapidly since launching in 2020. Its proprietary technology provides a secure “pop-up” 5G IAB mesh capability designed to operate in demanding littoral, offshore and remote environments where traditional satellite or fibre infrastructure is unavailable or insufficient, including in GPS denied environments.
The systems provide resilient, high-bandwidth connectivity supporting assured operations where continuity, data integrity, and operational awareness are essential.
The company has recently secured several high-profile contracts with public sector and nationally significant organisations, reflecting the growing requirement for rapidly deployable, secure communications infrastructure in mission-critical environments.
JET’s technology suite includes floating and fixed remote 5G platforms that enable organisations to access real-time data and high-bandwidth communications without relying on conventional infrastructure.
Its customers include leading players in the renewable energy, maritime and emergency response, where resilient connectivity underpins safety, tactical and operational efficiency, and real-time decision-making.
The new funding will accelerate commercial roll-out of JET’s fixed and buoy-mounted 5G platforms, which are scheduled for use from the Scottish Highlands to the North Sea.
Over the next 12 months, the company will also look to establish a manufacturing facility in Scotland to meet growing international demand for the technology.
Moray Martin, CEO of TRICAPITAL Angels, said: “JET Connectivity exemplifies the kind of ambitious, technically brilliant company that this country excels at producing.
“They combine deep technical expertise with a strong commercial focus, creating solutions that extend 5G access to areas where conventional networks cannot reach. This fast-moving, innovative, and rapidly scaling company is an excellent fit for the TRICAPITAL Angels portfolio. Equally, the expertise we bring to support their ambitions highlights the strength, value and partnership ethos we bring to our portfolio companies.”
JET’s product range includes a compact buoy designed for rivers and coastal areas, a mid-size platform offering data collection and 5G coverage over wider maritime zones, and an offshore station capable of supporting year-round connectivity miles from shore.
On land, its pop-up base stations and rugged routers provide temporary or fixed 5G hotspots for ports, airfields, manufacturing sites, and emergency response operations.
James Thomas, CEO of JET Connectivity, said: “This investment marks a pivotal moment in our journey. With the support of TRICAPITAL Angels and FSE, we are now positioned to meet the rapidly evolving requirements of organisations operating in complex and infrastructure-constrained environments.
“Our sovereign 5G networks are designed to provide the ultimate in secure, high-speed connectivity for those operating in the most challenging environments. This funding allows us to scale at the pace required to support critical national security initiatives.”
With surging demand for dependable communications across offshore wind, aquaculture, critical national infrastructure, dual use, environmental monitoring and emergency response, JET Connectivity is poised for significant growth in the UK and beyond.
The company is now hiring across engineering, sales and operations to support its next phase of growth.
